Everyone knows there are mass amounts of garbage, but where does it go?
All pictures seen above were taken in foreign countries. Each picture displays the struggle, not only from one category of people, but everyone being affected. The first picture shown is of two young girls in New Delhi. These girls are probably sorting through the garbage to find things to help their family survive. The second picture is different. Shown is a land covered completely is plastic. Plastic bottles, bags and many other things. The message I get from this picture is that the mother who is holding the young child, is showing him/her what she is going to grow up to. That picture was taken in China. The last picture to the right was taken in Maputo. The story behind this picture is a lack of waste disposal systems. Something happened that waste disposal stopped, which turned the streets of the city into a wasteland, Everywhere the people walked, there was garbage. There was no escaping the waste or sewage backup. With all of this said, yes the garbage is horrendous in foreign countries, but what's to say our land won't be this way in 50 years? Are we just going to keep dumping our garbage everywhere but our own home? Heck, the streets are already full of litter! Canada is being affected by garbage, just not in as dramatic ways as in other parts of the world. Here is some pictures of Canada and it's garbage.
These picture represent a lot about the garbage in Canada. The pictures on the far left and far right are pictures of a garbage strike held in Toronto. After only 1 day, the picture on the left shows just how much garbage can accumulate in public areas within a matter of hours. The picture to the right makes you realize that without garbage services dumping our trash somewhere for us, it has to go somewhere because it builds up so fast, Finally, the middle picture is showing the less than average amount of garbage in a dump. What is shown in the middle picture is a lot less garbage one city would produce.
So what's the point of this website?
The point of this website is to inform people about our world, I wanted to show people that all around the world, our waste is taking over. I feel it very important that people understand what our beautiful planet could end up looking like in 100 years and I wanted to share ways we could stop that. I hope it opened your eyes to the way of ourselves, to try and help make a difference!
